  1. Spider Ham, Spider Ham,Does whatever a Spider Ham canBaked or fried, he s a treat,On a roll or part of a BLTLook Out Here comes a Ham on Rye Is he kosher Oy vey, Bud.Go and check the TalmudNow I m hungry.Three and half stars rounded downSpider Ham regretfully or not, only time will tell only appears in the last few panels of this warm up to the Spider Verse crossover a collection of five different stories by five different writers artists about five different alternate versions of Spider Man fro [...]

  2. 3.5 starsFirst, Gwen Stacy may be on the cover, but this isn t her title This is a Spider verse book, so what you have a issues about different Spider Man characters from across the multiverse Spider Gwen is just one of them Some are better than others, but now that I think about it I enjoyed them all enough to come back and visit.Spider Man NoirSet in the 1930 s ish , this one is actually the closest to our Spidey as it gets in this volume Peter Parker, Mary Jane, and Aunt May go see an illusio [...]

  3. It s really hard to rate something like this in a vacuum you know, because of how much it sucks hey oh No, no this wasn t bad that was just too easy of a joke to pass up.Seriously, though, since this is nothing than a prelude to a bigger event, having not yet read that bigger event, I have no idea if this is a salacious teaser for a hearty meal or an overcooked appetizer for a bland and unfulfilling entr e So, we ll see how things shake out.One interesting note it s easy for comic artists to ha [...]

  4. 2.5 stars Quick Thoughts 1930s Spider Man pretty good, loved the different take on him Would read full volumes of it.Gwen Stacy already read this in a different separate volume bit disappointed Was hoping for different segment read first two volumes of Spider Gwen before I learned this existed Dr Aikman different and the whole idea was intriguing but kinda boring story If it was fleshed out , I could see myself following it perhaps but as is, no emotional connection SP dr confusing, and too shor [...]

  5. I actually enjoyed these stories way than I expected Each one of the five stories was truly amazing in its own way.

  6. This little anthology of alterna Spidey tales is pretty darned good Spider Man Noir by Hine is pretty cool, and sums up the mythology well without messing it up with trying to tell a morality tale or make it something other than a sidelong glance into that world Spider Gwen deserves all the hype it gets She s self possessed, fun and has her own mythology and style that defines her separate from Spidey It s especially good because of how much of a nothing one dimensional cutout her character was [...]

  7. An anthology of issues, each based on a Spider man from an alternate dimension, as part of the set up for the Spider Verse event The stand out story here is the Spider Gwen issue It reminded me of Scott Pilgrim in a way in how music is used in a comic In this dimension, Gwen Stacy is a drummer in a band as well as a Spider man Feels very relevant to current pop culture The others are okay There s a horror issue, the return of Spider man noir and a story written by Gerrard Way.The Dustin Weaver f [...]

  8. On balance, these stories average out to about three stars None of them are bad, though none of them are exactly great, either Even the Spider Gwen story, which I loved in the great context of her own book, is only pretty good in isolation Actually, the most effective story Patton Parnel s, which takes the familiar elements of Peter Parker s origin story and twists them into a horror story Very creepy But there are two stories in here with a technologically based Spidey, and I could have done wi [...]

  9. Okay, so, apparently you re supposed to read this one before Spider Gwen Maybe I ll reread that one now I thought this was really interesting I enjoyed the tour through all the AUs I don t know much about Spiderman so I m guessing I m missing some references obviously Mysterio and nerve gas are a thing SP dr was my favorite LOVED the art and the anime influence But wow, Patton Parnell was really disturbing way horror than I like but it was very memorable.

  10. Including all the edge of spider verse comics in this review, not just 1 5 Amazing Spider Man 7 8, Spider man 2099 5, Superior Spider man 32 33 This is the way to launch a big event Heck, a couple of these issues should just be the event Glad I didn t skip out on these before Spider verse view spoiler Though, some people may be pissed about what happens to the 982 Spider girl verse or the Spider man and Friends verse hide spoiler

  11. It was okay I m not a Spider man junkie besides Spider Gwen and Silk so all the off shoots made me terribly confused I know this is my own fault But I did like the Spider Gwen story And who doesn t like Spider ham

  12. That was pretty good, which I did not expect Sort an anthology of different authors take on Spider Man They seemed to have let them run with their ideas, as long as they connected them, sometimes extremely minimally, to the Spider Verse narrative Consider me impressed.

  13. Even though Gwen s on the cover of this book, dont be misled These issues are about a bunch of different Spider men, and the Gwen section is just a repeat from another graphic novel I think it s in Volume 1 The rest of them are pretty good the horror one was excellent, the one in the 1930 s was fascinating, and there s one that s blatantly in the Ghost in the Shell universe but there s no new Spider Gwen material in this book.

  14. I understand this may not be what other Spiderman fans are looking for, but for me it was perfect It s essentially 5 small stories about 5 different Spiderpeople and how they must come together to protect their existence All 5 stories weren t perfect but overall it was fun to see a new spin on the old story I m definitely looking forward to getting into the actual Spider verse story now

  15. The description of this book single shots of different Spider fill in the blank s across the multiverse sounds like a disaster, but I was pleasantly surprised by how strong each of these stories were.

  16. I have a Marvel Unlimited trial and for some reason, the first thing I wanted to read was the entire Spider Verse saga This collection of five issues are a lead in of sorts to the Spider verse, each introducing a new Spider character I really enjoyed seeing how different writers took the basic Spider man theme and story and ran with it.

  17. The Amazing Spider Man Edge of Spider Verse 2015 collects five stories originally issued as five comic book issues Each has a different writer and each has a different artist All of them serve as prefaces to the Spider Verse story event that follows The connecting link here is that there are different Spider totems Spider Man, Spider Woman, Spider Pig, Spider Girl, Spider Cyborg in different times, places, and universes, all of them are threatened by a family known as the Inheritors, and so the [...]

  18. Edge of Spider Verse collects five different tellings of the classic Spider Man origin story Some were definitely better than others I enjoyed Spider Man Noir, it had a great world built up and was well paced Lots of interesting characters and a unique take on the story I d probably read along this storyline, but the alternate universe angle introduced at the end kind of ruined it for me I really cannot understand Marvel s incessant need to tie all their stories together Just let a good story b [...]

  19. Wow The five issues in this collection are all completely different, as they all depict universes where spiders are living out their lives without realizing that a mysterious race of beings is traveling throughout space, time, and dimensions to kill them all It was fun to see all of these different versions of the Spider Man some of which are actually Spider Women.I d already read the Gwen Stacy as Spider Woman installment in the volume centered around her storyline It s an interesting concept, [...]

  20. I only read it for the introduction of Spider Gwen The rest was hit or miss The first 3 were pretty cool, with Spider Gwen being the best by far, but the fourth one was in poor taste Didn t bother with the fifth. So real ratings 1 3.5 5 Stars, very interesting but the blood was a bit much for me 2 5 5 Stars, very excellent, though I hope to get the full origin story with volume 1 which I will be reading in full 3 4 5, very interesting, too bad there s no conclusion 4 0 5, not my kind of story It [...]

  21. I think I should ve read this before I read the Spider Verse storyline, but you can read this like a prequel I suppose Each issue in this was written and illustrated by different people, the artwork in this is okay and the writing is good, I think my favorite issues in this were the first and second issues and my least favorite were the third and fourth issues especially Issue 04, its messed up If you plan on reading Spider Verse, read this one and then Amazing Spider Man Spider Verse which has [...]

  22. Sure my friend Matt was not a fan of these issues But I really enjoyed these alternate and very different versions of Spider Man Despite some of them not appearing as major Spiders in Spider verse it really helps demonstrate the diversity of the Spider Totems reach in the multiverse And it was kind of fun.

  23. A decent anthology of Spidey stories The Spider Gwen story may have launched into a beloved series but the first issue was just OK The Spidey Noire, Aaron Aikman Spidey, and Gerard Way s SP dr stories were all average The standout was definitely I Walked With A Spider, where spider powers are given to a psychopathic teen that likes to kill animals.

  24. I always love alternate universe style stories, and this is no exception Spider Man Noir is always cool, Sp DR was awesome and a great style, and Spider Gwen is one of my new favorite characters The only miss here was the weird robo suit Spider Man, I think The old pulp horror style story was terrifyingly gross.

  25. Hard to rate bevause every issue is so different I didn t like the last two comics and even though I liked the 2nd and 3rd ones they re too short to really enjoy them Would have loved to read a little bit about Spider Gwen and Aaron Aikman The first comic fell somewhere in between.

  26. Lots of Spider Men Some great stories here and some OK ones My favourite is a tie between the Noir Spider Man one and the Spider Gwen, with both being excellent A lot of creators in this book as well and it allowed me to read books from writers who I might not have given a try otherwise.
